  • Take steps to ease any tension or stress you might be feeling. Tension is a major cause of migraine attacks and if you can reduce your tension levels you should experience a corresponding reduction in migraines. A simple way to relax and ease any tension is to lie down in a darkened room and slow down your rate of breathing. Aim to be taking about eight breaths in a minute and breath deeply making your diaphragm do the work.
